Description

This is not a dog for everyone. It requires an owner who is fair, calm and compelling. The owner must be enforced in a polite and patient manner. This dog is devoted to his owner and blindly loyal and obedient. He is born guard is very cautious about the presence of foreigners. He is energetic, fearless, determined for everything and alert. Doberman enjoys human companionship. It is overly faithful and overprotective for the family and its region.

This breed coexists better with older, more careful and discerning children. It can not coexist peacefully with other domestic pets. However, this breed is more capable of connecting with humans and especially with only one family member. Doberman demands constant attention and it is not good to leave it alone for long periods of time. Not recommended to an inexperienced dog owner. He is very active, needs a spacious courtyard and to be exercised regularly to exhaust his energy.

History of the Doberman

Coming from Germany during the 1860s, Doberman was used as a personal guard and guardian, an animal eradicator (mice, etc.), a sheepdog and a hound. Developed by Louis Dobermann, this breed is one of the few that has been named after a real person. This polite and proud breed served heroically during both World Wars and is the official fighting dog of the US Army’s Marine Corps.

Health and Care

Health problems: cardiomyopathies, cervical vertebral deformities that can cause unsteady gait, hypothyroidism, excessive bleeding during or after surgery, bone cancer, dermatitis. Doberman requires very little care. A brushing every week is enough. They do not lose too much hair.
